Tiergarten

Berlin
Tiergarten is the largest park in Berlin and very popular for all age groups.

The garden runs from the Brandenburg Gate in the east right through to Zoo Station in the west. A truly magnificent setting, it was Peter Joseph Lane back in the early 18th century who designed and landscaped the gardens, unfortunately the gardens were damaged during World War II but most of the replanting was done during the 1950’s.

You can view different historical sculptures for example, the four-tiered Victory Column memorials and many more from the Prussian era located in the ceremonial park.

Today the park is mainly used to come and just relax. Once a year there's a Loveparade that makes its way through the gardens abd the grand finale takes place in the very centre at the “Siegessaule Schloss Bellevue” seat of the federal president.

On the western side of the Tiergarten, the park borders the Zoologic Garden - well worth a visit if you want to see the world’s largest variety of individual types of fauna, and a fascinating aquarium.
