This was originally the only crossing point between East and West Germany during the Cold War and was often said to be the meeting point for spies, undercover agents and other suspicious characters. Immortalised in the work of John Le Carré and other fiction writers of the spy genre, there’s also a Checkpoint Charlie museum where you’ll find various items from the old Berlin Wall and other related paraphernalia. It’s located between Friedrichstrasse and Zimmerstrasse near the U-Bahn station Kochstrasse on U6.
